If you only use a small number of contractors then you can simply ask them to demonstrate their Stage 1 H&S competence by producing a valid certificate issued by a SSIP Member Scheme – such as the SMAS Worksafe Contractor scheme. With over 5 years experience of running Client ‘approved contactor lists’ we are able to manage all aspects of your Stage 1 assessments, giving you confidence that you are meeting the CDM criteria.

Every Programme managed by SMAS is individually tailored to meet the Clients specific needs but will typically offer:

Assistance in the transition to an SSIP ethos to contractor assessments.
Management of all your Stage 1 assessments either through the verification of existing SSIP Member Scheme certification or the completion of our own Worksafe certificate
Communication with your contractors covering:
- the initial contact outlining your assessment requirements
