SMAS Worksafe Schemes offer a fast, efficient and cost effective way of demonstrating your Health and Safety competence and gaining a nationally recognised H&S certificate from a SSIP Member Scheme.

SSIP membership

As SMAS Ltd is a Registered Member of the Safety Schemes in Procurement (SSIP) Forum, your SMAS Worksafe certificate should be recognised by many other SSIP member schemes – meaning that you should not have to complete further full Health & Safety assessment questionnaires for SSIP member schemes (who offer mutual recognition), whilst your certificate remains valid. Many Clients will now only use contractors and consultants selected from an approved database who have demonstrated the appropriate level of competence in their H&S management systems. Clients can be assured that contractors and consultants who have been assessed and accredited by an SSIP member scheme have achieved the initial threshold of competence to provide specific services.

Fast and straightforward processes

SMAS will guide you through the assessment process at every stage, providing easy to complete forms guidance notes and a telephone helpline. Many applications pass first time but if for any reason you do not meet the criteria we will provide guidance on exactly what additional information is required and will re-assess the application at no further cost provided the additional information is provided promptly.
Assessments will normally be completed within 3 to 5 working days.

Benefits of obtaining a SMAS Worksafe Certificate

· Once approved by SMAS your current and valid certificate should be recognised by other SSIP member schemes (who offer mutual recognition) as adequate proof of meeting the Stage 1 Core Criteria, subject to completing their own verification process. Saving you both time and money.

Reducing Duplication

If you already hold a current SSIP Member Scheme Certificate and you wish to be visible as an approved contractor on the SMAS database, you simply need to complete our brief verification form, confirm your current accreditation with a SSIP Member Scheme, and provide copies of your current insurance documentation. Once verified you will receive a SMAS Worksafe certificate and the Worksafe logo. There is a small administration fee of £30 + vat for this service.
